The drive to the trail head is SUPERB!!! Hike or just go for the drive.
Nice easy hike to see the pioneer register. Lots of names to look at and maybe even google when you get home. Hike is about a mile and is flat. Crossing through the old creek bed, some sand, gravel and rocks.
Fun to drive/walk through the canyons.
A really cool historical point of interest in Capitol Reef. You walk along a normally dry riverbed through Capitol Gorge to reach the markings on the wall above you on your left. Keep your eyes looking up I missed them on my first hike through.
